A project is expected to last life long. It is, therefore, essential that material of construction and strength of the materials selected for plant & fabrication has to be such that least replacement is needed and the life span of the equipment exceeds well over two to three decades. Further the designs of equipment are to be such as to fulfil this requirement. Mecpro emphasis on these points is established by the fact that plants supplied even two decades back (when others have not even been existing) have still been operating just like new plants. Simplicity in Operation

MECPRO plants are fully automatic and one operator is required for starting & stopping the plant and to supervise that no controls are mal-functioning. Even an inexperienced person can be easily trained as an operator. This simplicity in operation is attained by inerlocking system, safety controls warning alarms etc. and the synchronising of various processing steps in the extraction plant.


Safety


Solvent used in the Extraction Plant is n-hexane which is an highly volatile and inflammable liquid. This fact is given highest importance in designing MECPRO plans for safety consideration. Nothing is left to chance and hence safety record of MECPRO plant is the best. MECPRO follows NFPA (National Fire Protection Association of USA) Code in designing the Plants and their recommendations are incorporated in MECPRO plants and thus MECPRO would not compromise on safety to make the plant cheaper.


Solvent Consumption

Theoretically, whatever quantity of solvent which is used for extraction is recoverable after distillation of miscella and desolventisation of extracted meal and as such same recovered solvent lost through venting, in finished products and in leaks. MECPRO designs ensure full control of these sources of solvent loss to keep it minimum. Highly expensive but very effective design of oil absorber for vent gases wherein a large film surface of absorbing oil is exposed to the vent gases ensures maximum absorption of solvent vapours from vent gases before passing into atmosphere. Specially designed mechanical seals on moving shafts ensures no leakages of solvent. Liberal cooling areas of vapours condensors ensure maximum condensation and minimum solvent vapours in the vent. All these measures and many more ensure that MECPRO Plants work with lowest solvent consumption.


Higher Recovery of Oil

In U.S.A., Europe and other Countries vegetable oil is cheap and hence they do not give much importance for reducing the oil content of deoiled meal to minimum possible extent so to improve upon the recovery of oil. Their intention of extracting the oil is to increase the protein content of meal in which they are interested. In India, Vegetable Oil is highly expensive and therefore the stress is to extract as much oil as possible leaving very minimum in the deoiled cake. In view of this requirement, MECPRO supplies a much bigger extractor for a given capacity of plant than others. This has the advantage of not only higher recovery of oil but also the easy expansion of the plant at future date without any major modifications in the extractor. In designing the extractor itself no expense is spared (making it an expensive design) to ensure smooth working of band conveyor giving clear miscella Stainless Steel wire mesh lined on the band conveyor, S.S. cover joints, S.S. side seals ensure the same. Variable speed mechanism affords a high flexibility to maintain optimum operating conditions (extraction time) for a given material. High and low level controls in extractor feed hopper seals off the extractor from atmospheric air.


Accessories

A solvent extraction plant requires a large number of bought out items such as pumps, pipes, valves, cables, motors, gear boxes, chain, wheels etc. A good design of a plant involves proper selection of sizes of all these items. General tendency is to keep these sizes to minimum to reduce the over all price of the plant. But MECPRO takes care that there are adequate averages in the sizes of these boughtout items so that during future expansion of the plant these items need not be replaced. Further all bought out items conform to prevailing I.S.I. standards.

Excellent synchronising of various processing steps coupled with the fact that many heat saving devices are incorporated in a MECPRO plant ensures lowest steam and power consumptions per tonne of raw material processed.
